Silgan Relay for Life 2018

Silgan’s “Put a Cap on Cancer” initiative returns in 2019 with the company’s participation in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Champaign, IL. This is the second year in a row that the Silgan team has entered this important fundraising event. Last year, walkers raised over $5000 in pledges to benefit this worthwhile and important cause.

This year, Silgan has set a goal of raising $1000 for the cause, but aims to exceed that goal. Realizing that cancer has touched the lives of nearly everyone in some way, the members of Team Silgan are joining the effort to play their part in stopping this dreaded disease in its tracks! Fundraising efforts have already begun and will continue throughout the rest of May and into June until the day of the event. Supporters can continue to donate funds easily using a convenient and secure online form.

On the day of the event, the members of the Silgan team will honor the lives of those who lost their battle with cancer, celebrate the victories won by cancer survivors, support those who are currently undergoing treatments, and pay tribute to the caregivers and professionals who are on the front line aiding in the fight against cancer.

Once again, Silgan would like to honor those who have worked and lived with fellow team members at the company or who are extended members of the Silgan family including:

  • Dan Odom
  • Joan Lantz
  • Alex Reynolds
  • Robert Scroggins
  • Anna Viser
  • Celesta Galey
  • Kristy Shumate
